I finished making my simple structure and set it on my desk.  A few minutes later my friend comes in with his hamster Zombie Bear. Instantly Zombie Bear takes off straight for my little model.  It took 20 minutes of coaxing with delicious treats to get him out (without breaking my model).   It made my day.

Andy Goldsworthy like Architect

I find an Architect by the name of Glenn Murcutt. It shows four of his houses, but that's really all you need to see how genius these designs are. As an environmentalist, he often designs buildings to work, with and around nature. Each of the four buildings shown are able to "breathe" by design. For example, by the design air currents are able to ride along the back walls or underneath the home to keep it cool or warm when needed. Each window is intricately placed to gain temperature or lose temperature with the sun's position, depending on the time of day. One of them even has a V style roof to collect rain to be used for drinking water, or heating. Thusly being able to work with nature, and have them come together to make something that can protect them from nature.

John Harris

Below are a few tree houses that were built by John Harris and the TreeHouse Company. John Harris is the founder of the TreeHouse company, and this sight gives a little bit of insight into his life and some of his outstanding work in building tree houses.
Tree houses intrigue me, i think it is amazing how such immaculate structures can be built in and around these oddly shaped trees. John's work isn't that similar to Andy Goldsworthy's but this is a different look at architecture in a natural setting. i hope everyone enjoys them like i do!!!

Frank Lloyd Wright is the BOMB

www.galinsky.com/.../fallingwater/general.jp

This link is really interesting to me. It explains alot about Frank Lloyd Wrights philosophy on architecture and design. What peaked my interest was that he not only did Frank design the house but, he designed the furniture that goes in the house and every aspect that goes along with the house.

Alan Sonfist caught my attention with his "Circles of Time" art, done in Tuscany. He tends to use circles to represent the continuous flow of time. On his webpage-http://www.alansonfist.com/, there is a quote stating that, "Each ring represents the narrative natural and cultural history of Tuscany." I also like the way he states that "As in war monuments that record the life and death of soldiers, the life and death of natural phenomena such as rivers, springs, and natural outcroppings need to be remembered. Public art can be a reminder that the city was once a forest or a marsh."

Hey Bambi and class,
I had two artists that I wanted to add to the list, and they are:
Robert Smithson -

and James Turrell -  he doesn't have a web site that I know of but there are a lot of documentaries on his Roden crater project in Flagstaff, AZ. I actually got to hang out there with my uncle for a day when I was younger and living in Phoenix. (google him, its pretty cool stuff)

The person in which I found for research is Chris Drury. I have found that he has very original art and uses objects from the environment to create his art. Below each link is a sample picture from the website.
